Episode 25: You People

In the second iteration of a Simone + Paris episode in Season Two, we return to the book we starting reading together, “Big Friendship”. We’re excited to jump back in with Chapter 3: Chosen Family, which is a chapter we both totally relate to!

We wholeheartedly agree with the authors of “Big Friendship” that friendships “provide a security that enables other relationships and experiences, with a foundation of deep knowledge and ample time”.

Big Friendships, friendships without a fear of judgement, enable us to succeed in other areas of life because we have the support of those friendships no matter what we face. The friends that we let into our lives in this fashion become our chosen family.

We chat about our chosen family, friendships of all kinds, and when we realized that some of our friendships went from surface level to Earth’s core kinda deep.

Fun stuff we mention:

Simone had a blast learning about the friendship between Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens by reading Alexander Hamilton and engrossing herself in the podcast, Hamilcast.
